Figuratively / Literally

My heart, broken in 2011 (dramatics aside, pangs and pains most definitely took up residence in my heart), has this day, August 25, 2015 been left in NC with my child. I wasn’t certain I would survive the jagged edges of grief these past few years; Now I wonder at embracing the jagged edges of joy for my child as I forge forward singularly.

  1. a platform or compartment housed in a shaft for raising and lowering people or things to different floors or level.

Tuesday, December 17th, from early a.m. throughout the day, the Manor elevator will be decommissioned for service and repair.  It is likely this will be a day-long event.

Plan accordingly. The carrying of holiday gifts or grocery bags laden with treats may be best suited for any other day of the week.

The good news? Our building has not one but two beautifully designed stairwells.  Here is our chance to become directly reaquainted with the architecture!  Yes, yes, easier said than done if heading to the 2nd floor rather than the 7th.

Here then is one way to welcome the chill in the air before coming into the building… offsets stair climbing.

Tis the Season!

The Williams Woodland Park Holiday Home Tour will be held Saturday, December 7th, 5 to 9 pm and Sunday, December 8th, 1 to 5 pm.

Fairfield Manor is pleased to be participating in this popular Fort Wayne event again this year.

Our lobby and a few units in the building will be open during the tour, showcasing our beautiful building while sharing in this long-standing neighborhood Tour tradition.

Happy cheer is sure to fill our halls!

Room with a view.

Typically Monday through Saturday, the hustle and bustle of the surrounding neighborhood can be heard through the open windows of our 7-story building.  There is some comfort in the city sounds, the activities a reminder we are thriving. Sundays provide a nice respite from the usual quick pace and outside activity.

It is a beautiful Sunday morning at Fairfield Manor.  The city is slow to rise. Quiet. The sun is shining, gently gleaming into our amazing abundance of windows and French doors. The morning dew is reflected in the trees and grass, lush green and vibrant. Birds are chattering, cicada chirps fade as they settle in for their nap, and a gentle cool breeze drifts into our spaces. It is a lovely day.
